Drum Support Services
Let's agree on this basic idea: drums are a musical instrument! Maybe that sounds obvious, but very often we forget it. Yes, percussion music is made by hitting things. And yes, we can make percussion music by hitting anything. But that doesn't mean a drum set should sound like a collection of five-gallon buckets. The mission of Drum Outfitters is to inspire drummers with confidence, creativity, and musicality. It greatly helps drummers to think in those terms when the instruments we hit make musical sounds when we hit them. If your drums look or sound like something that was dragged up out of a coal cellar, they won't inspire musical ideas. Fortunately Drum Outfitters can help!
We offer drum maintenance services such as:
- Replacing drum heads that are worn, broken, or just don't sound good
- Tuning drums
- Repairing or replacing broken pieces of equipment
- General cleaning and inspecting the condition of drums and percussion instruments
- Value appraisals
- Researching the history of vintage equipment
We can also answer basic questions like how to set up drums ergonomically to be easier to play.
If you are trying to find different sounds, we are always happy to discuss new instruments or accessories to achieve the sounds in your head.
If you are part of a church or school music program, we can do individual, small-group, or large-group lessons and workshops with your drummers on a wide variety of subjects and techniques. Our goal is to help drummers make better contributions to the music. Playing music should be joyful, not frustrating!
